Anyone still wrought by seasonal depression? Maybe it's the near perpetual gloom of NE Ohio. It feels like it will never warm up completely for more than a few days at a time. It's also kind of nice during the week while we're trapped in our respective workplaces then when the weekend hits: cold, overcast,… Continue reading Seasonal Depression or Industrialized Nation Problems?

Step into a gingham-lined world of stories, stitches, and supper. Stitch-O-Rama Susie is my cozy, atomic-age corner for living creatively from vintage skimmer dress patterns and hand-pieced quilts to garden mischief and recipe cards tucked inside vintage cookbooks. It’s a celebration of mid-century charm and modern-making, blending the soulful joy of crafting with a nostalgic wink at casseroles and revamping vintage recipes to meet modern tastes.

Here, creativity swirls like a skimmer dress, and comfort simmers on the stove. Expect retro-style sewing, embroidery inspiration, food folklore, bookish beatniks,  sock hop rock-n-roll, and heartfelt homemaking—all stitched together with intentionality, curiosity, and love.

Explore the quieter side of my creative journey at Dreaming in Haiku, where I share poems, reflections, and the delicate magic of midnight musings.

The Golden Rules

This cozy little corner is stitched with intention and sprinkled with the sparkle of slower days. Like an afternoon at a 1950s kitchen table with sewing patterns and cookbooks open, percolator bubbling, and a cat or two lazing nearby. This space is a gentle refuge from the hubbub outside.

We make with care. We share with heart. And we treat each other like good neighbors should.

Polite conversation only, sugar. Comments are lovingly moderated, just like Grandma’s gelatin mold, so anything unkind, rude, or out of step with our domestic code will be swiftly removed or blocked, no fuss and no fanfare.

We abide by the Golden Rules around here. If you wouldn’t say it to your mother over meatloaf, don’t say it at all. If it isn’t nice, stitch it back up before it unravels. Respect and good manners are always in fashion.

You're welcome here, truly. But only if you come carrying kindness, tucked inside your handbag or pocket like a crisp linen handkerchief.
