Anyone still wrought by seasonal depression? Maybe it’s the near perpetual gloom of NE Ohio. It feels like it will never warm up completely for more than a few days at a time. It’s also kind of nice during the week while we’re trapped in our respective workplaces then when the weekend hits: cold, overcast, and all-around blechy. It’s difficult to get out of the slump.
I don’t have a lot to say at the moment, honestly, I just wanted to post something. I had plans of posting a review of the Sewing and Quilt Expo in Cleveland, and while it had some bright spots, it just wasn’t what I expected it to be, i.e. bit of a letdown. Boy, those social media posts from folks who frequent the larger quilt/fabric/yarn/textile conventions can sure put a lot of expectations in your head!
I have lots of plans for sewing and knitting but absolutely no desire to do any of it. The gloom pervades. The writing is going through a difficult spell as well.
So, if you too are muddling through a bit of a rough patch mentally and the creative things that usually bring you peace or joy just aren’t filling that void – know that you’re not alone. Might feel like it at times, but you’re not. Keep going. Take a nap, eat some comfort food. Perhaps watch a favorite tv show or movie, listen to music. But just keep going. The world needs your creative voice and vision. Even if Apple seems against us.
